Sacred and Sad Moments

Today was our 3rd Day in Nairobi. It's difficult to believe that we have only been here for 3 days! So much has happened. The team is awesome. It's exciting to see their smiles as they interact with the people/children and exciting to witness God using each of their gifts and talents!

Before I say more though I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for your prayers. We arrived safe and sound and other than a few upset stomachs and fatigue from 28 hours of travel the team was awesome.

There is so much to share but the internet has not been very cooperative, so while I have this "gift" of internet time I really want to share about today!

Kiambu hospital is a public hospital we visited today. It was just a few of us because we were concerned about not being allowed in.

We walked through the pediatric ward into rooms with babies 3-4 to a bed. I really am speechless. These babies have pneumonia, severe malnutrition, yellow fever, meningitis, HIV. Their Mom's are clinging to any hope they can find. We prayed over every baby individually and Beth Luca sang in each room. Beautiful!

We think we have health care problems. We met a 12yo, Jane, with meningitis and HIV..she has been in this hospital for 5 months, only receiving some food and water, because her Mom has no money for medicines so the hospital will not treat. Basically, she is dying. We prayed for a miracle, we shared the gospel, she tried to open her eyes and move one of her arms but watching her struggle we prayed for her rest! Her face relaxed and she started snoring.

These were truly sacred and sad moments. There are no pictures because it simply was not appropriate at any moment.

Crosspoint Yahoo's! Your socks touch the lives of many children/babies today!

"Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed..in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.... Death has been swallowed up in victory....Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you." 2 Corinthians 15
